Candyce Denise

Who Is She?
Hailing from Indianapolis, IN, Candyce is making strides to bring a new approach to music as we know it. Fusing classical and jazz elements into rap and r&b, she plays glissando notes to grab the attention of everyone around. While some chose to be police officers, doctors, or teachers, Candyce never chose to be a musician, rather she was called upon to become at the age of 2, and has made it a life’s journey to succeed in a space not typical for a clarinet. As quoted by Leila Ciancaglini, founder and CEO of RLC Talent Agency: “Candyce is an amazing musician and makes our events so cool!” Being multi-versed in other instruments, Candyce also adds elements of cello, violin and piano into her pieces.
Currently, Candyce is preparing to release self-produced singles while exploring the world to the fullest with her children. Outside of the studio, she plays locally and as a resident musician at various fashion and talent shows, some of which include celebrity DJ: J Young MDK, and Actor/Comedian Mark Christopher Lawrence. Whether it’s on a yacht or at a winery; Candyce also performs for various private events. A fun fact about Candyce is that she is the great-great niece of the first African-American U.S. Marshall/Original Lone Ranger: Bass Reeves. Outside of music, Candyce trains and competes in the martial arts, focusing on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Combat Puglism.
As a survivor of abortion and suicide attempts coupled with a life in and out of foster care/group homes, Candyce stayed fully immersed in the performing arts winning school talent shows that landed her in front of Ice-T, to becoming recognized as an outstanding musician and bandsman, as well as a participant in honor bands, orchestras, and most importantly community service. Those accolades granted her entry into the United States Marine Corps with meritorious promotion upon completion of bootcamp. She played for the cast of the Sons of Anarchy, and has Busta Rhymes introducing her on an original piece. Candyce has also made appearances on cello in the music video Last Resort Reimagined by Falling in Reverse, and Smile by Chase Bell, as well as featured as the keys player for singer J Hart’s Ripe. Currently Candyce is also a regular opener for actor and comedian Mark Christopher Lawrence’s comedy shows at the Northcoast Repertory Theatre. Presently, Candyce is slated to perform at the International Music Summit in London, England.
Candyce believes that music heals where words and medicine can’t and therefor strives to be a positive light in a world of darkness. Life was given because someone fought for her right to be born, and her journey is a guidepost for not only adults who endured similar situations, but for current foster and at risk youth. She succeeds because she believes that she is better than any struggle and always finds a way to leverage her opportunities. She provides ways to be of service for others, and in return is blessed.
